Gianna Caridi

Gianna started dancing at age 3 and her love for dance, especially Ballet, grew through her early training. At age 14 she  auditioned and was accepted to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Ballet School at the American Ballet Theater in NY City. In high school Gianna attended The Kirov Academy of Ballet boarding school in Washington, DC. After two year at Kirov, she continued her pre professional training in NYC at the prestigious Ellison Ballet Pre Professional program.

Upon Graduation Gianna joined the Richmond Ballet in Richmond, Virginia. At the Richmond Ballet, Gianna performed in many ballet productions including: Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, La Bayadere, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and many original contemporary ballets including a contemporary piece choreographed and created highlighting Gianna.

After a devastating injury, Gianna was forced into rehabilitation. It was here that she fell in love with Pilates, the method and how it both heals and strengthens the body. She became a certified Pilates instructor and uses the knowledge to help her students prevent injuries and strengthen their bodies for the rigorous  physical demands on a dancer.

While Gianna continues to study and expand her knowledge of rehabilitative practices she has found herself drawn back to the dance studio to put her years of training and love for Ballet to the task of training other young intermediate and advanced students in classical Ballet.  Teaching private lessons and Master Classes to Ballet students whose goal is to progress professionally where she can share her early and hard won knowledge of dance, the body and the focus it takes to elevate to a professional level while maintaining the love and joy for this unique art form.
